Born in Copenhagen, Denmark I came to Canada at the age of 6. Growing up in the Fraser Valley in BC Canada instilled a sense of wonder as to the beauty of our country. My inspiration comes from drawing and painting outdoors. My “plein air” sketches bring ideas to what I call my “Intuitive Landscapes” which may start with a few simple strokes of colour and is finished with the memory from a location traveled to. In the last few years my travels have included a trips to Denmark , Bella Coola, Whistler, Mexico, the Caribou, Nova Scotia and the Pacific Northwest. We also spend a lot of time on our boat in nearby lakes and the San Juan Islands. These trips also include our intelligent companion “Spirit” a 6 year old Standard Poodle.
I studied art at the University of British Columbia for 4 years and left this endeavor to raise my family. I have been painting now since 1999 and have taken many Federation of Canadian Artists workshops.
I have participated in many group , duo and solo shows in the last few years including the new Reach in Abbotsford which purchased 2 of my paintings for their permanent collection. There have also been a number of awards that I am honoured to receive including the Arty Award for Visual Artist of the Year.
We currently live in Powell River, BC and when I am not walking my dog you may find me drawing or painting in one of our many beautiful local parks.
