Soap Works
Allison Milan began making handmade soap in 1996 on Vancouver Island at a time when there weren’t a lot of soapmakers on the market. Wanting more natural, toxin free products for herself and her family at first it branched out and grew to doing craft fairs and gift shows at the urging of friends. Sweet Earth Soap Works was born. She formulated her own recipes using high quality oils, scents, natural colourants and has over 22 varieties of soaps today. Her line has expanded over the years to encompass lotions, creams, salves, bath products, deodorants, lip balms, face cleanser, shampoo bars and is always experimenting, creating and coming up with new products!
Each product uses ingredients found in nature: rich oils, essential oils and herbs , flowers and seeds many of which she grows in her own garden.
In 1999 she moved to Powell River with her husband and soon became a favourite at the Farmer’s Market and local craft fairs. She continues in the tradition of soap making, enjoying bringing her customers hand crafted local products made in small batches from her home based shop. Today she has her products in various shops around town, can be found at the Farmer’s Market between April & Sept and has a website where you can find and order her amazing products for yourself!
